GETTING HERE

Sonar is located along the harbour side of Luna Park at Milsons Point, just under the northern end of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Entrance is via the boardwalk.

It is easily accessible by train, bus, ferry and car.

Public Transport Information timetables are available by calling 131 500 or you can visit timetabling here.

Train
Most trains do not operate between midnight and 4.30am. For your convenience a special NightRide bus service is available between these hours. For timetable and route information, please visit here.

The closest station to Luna Park is Milsons Point. Regular CityRail services operate between Milsons Point and the City.

Bus
Many North Shore bus routes pass the nearby North Sydney Station and/or terminate at Milsons Point.

Ferries
Ferries regularly service Milsons Point (Luna Park) wharf from Circular Quay and Darling Harbour.

Matilda run direct services to Luna Park on board the Rocket Express. Ferry and ride packages are available by visiting one of Matilda's Ticket Offices at Pier 26 Darling Harbour, King St Wharf 4 or Jetty 6 Circular Quay. You may prefer to book over the phone by calling (02) 9264 7377 or online here.

The wharf is also available to charter vessels for drop off and pick up, subject to prior permission and license from Sonar Sydney.

Knowing about The Fuel Economy is essential. The Fuel Economy a band that formed by pure coincidence a couple years ago and have been growing and progressing since 2006. The band comprises of four members, each unique and their differences are integral to their success.

The Fuel Economy have been giging at bars, pubs and other venues all around Sydney, and now after two years of writing, giging and recording the band are on the verge of releasing their debut album The Oliver Chester Sessions which shows promise of great things to come.

Their single "Song For Me is now at radio.

The Bird's Collective is a group of like-minded musicians, bands and artists coming together to promote and enhance the progressive music scene.   With a lineup of acts carrying the influences of bands such as Yes, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, The Mars Volta, Battles, Budgie, Sigur Ros and more, Bird's Robe seeks to make every show an event for progressive and experimental music.

Tonight, Bird's Robe comes to Sonar for its eighth show, with a lineup featuring groove proggers Squat Club, the experimental audio/visual artists Space Project, the epic post-rock of sleepmakeswaves and the dynamic power of headliners Tinderbox.

With influences ranging from Coltrane to D'Angelo, Jamiroquai to Joshua Redman, Alamode is a hard band to categorise. A mixture of live jazz, fusion, funk, and even hip-hop, Alamode is a 5 piece band guaranteed to get everybody dancing.

Hailing from Newtown, Sydney, 2008 is set to be busy for Alamode, starting off the year with an explosive performance at the Spirt of Soul Festival in January. May 28th saw Alamode release their debut album 'The Fettuccine Method" supported by the Fuji Collective and Bass Camp "The Fettuccine Method", recorded with an extended lineup will be recreated live at the Album launch with the addition of a string section, 4 piece horn section and vocalist Miranda Murphy.
